The Excursion Africanism LP is the debut album of legendary Italian DJ Domenico Cantarella aka Jose Manuel on Copenhagen imprint Music For Dreams. He has released previously on Eskimo Recordings, Kill The DJ, Cocktail D’Amore and Is It Balearic. There is some authentic exoticism on offer on the wonderful title track, some woozy and mysterious raindance accompaniment on “Magic”, some emotional African folk music on “Bilimbosa” (featuring Babacar Dieng’s amazing vocal talents) and of course the brilliant “Hungry” which even gets a killer remix by Ibiza legend Leo Mas & Fabrice.
