White Series #5 EP

Kashawar explores organic textures, unfamiliar environments and unconventional rhythmic structure in his contribution to Subject To Restrictions Discs’ White Series. He takes a closer look at the spaces between experimental bass music, deep electronic atmospheres and trance. Over the course of four tracks, the EP unfolds an otherworldly environment, where weighty basslines and hypnotic rhythms meet fluid textures and unexpected melodic turns. Sounds seem to grow, overlap and transform, moving between dense, immersive passages and moments of openness and release.

Opening with ‘Terraform’, Kashawar sets the tone with deep, liquid textures and a restrained halftime pulse. ‘Vesta 227’ moves into bass-heavy territory, evoking the feeling of a dense and unfamiliar landscape. With ‘Mycelial Drift’, faster rhythms and uplifting elements he introduces a more adventurous momentum, before ‘Foreign Soil’ closes the EP with tribal-inflected trance patterns and melodic passages.
