Original Re-press of the Original Italo-Disco Hit Recorded in 1983 by 18-year-old producer Roberto Ferrante and voiced by otherwise unknown Douglas Roop, a soldier who was working at the south Europe NATO headquarters in Naples, “Come on Closer” was such a classic of early Chicago house that original pressings sell on eBay for upwards of $200. It was sampled on Neon Indian’s “Psychic Chasms,” giving it another small resurgence in popularity online.
